Hello! I'm Mahesh
I’m Dr. Mahesh Chikkachannappa, a surgeon based in central Bengaluru with nearly 29 years of experience in General and Gastrointestinal Surgery. My journey has taken me through premier institutions in India and the UK, where I’ve built a foundation of strong clinical expertise alongside academic and leadership development, including an MBA in Healthcare Management.
I’m known for maintaining a calm, thoughtful approach in both the operating room and patient interactions. My focus has always been on delivering precise, compassionate care while staying accessible and grounded. I believe in continuous learning and innovation and have been deeply involved in mentoring postgraduate trainees and shaping the next generation of surgeons.
Over the years, I’ve served as a senior consultant surgeon at leading hospitals in Bengaluru, including Aster CMI, Columbia Asia (now Manipal Hospitals), and Mallya Hospital. My time in the UK also gave me valuable international exposure. Currently, I serve as the lead consultant and professor at Sparsh Hospital on Hennur Road, where I specialize in General Surgery, Gastrointestinal Surgery, Robotic Surgery, Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery, and Laser Proctology. Alongside my clinical work, I remain committed to academic mentorship and contributing to the growth and development of our surgical department.

TESTIMONIALS
BARIATRIC SURGERY
Before my bariatric surgery, I struggled with severe obesity, constant fatigue, and joint pain that made even simple tasks exhausting. Diets and exercise barely made a difference, and I felt trapped in my own body. After the surgery, my energy levels have skyrocketed, I've lost over 80 pounds, and my confidence has never been higher—I'm finally able to enjoy life without limitations.
HERNIA SURGERY
I was dealing with persistent pain and discomfort that affected my daily activities and work. Lifting anything felt like a challenge, and the constant bulge made me anxious. After the surgery, the pain is completely gone, and I’m back to my normal routine with no restrictions. It feels like i now have a fresh start at life.
GI SURGERY
I suffered from severe acid reflux, constant nausea, and difficulty swallowing, making every meal a struggle. Medications provided only temporary relief, and I was losing weight unintentionally. After the surgery, my symptoms have completely disappeared. I can finally eat without pain, sleep through the night, and enjoy food again without fear. It’s been truly life-changing!
